Our History
The Beginning
Established in 1997, Unipet emerged as a wholly owned, locally operated company dedicated to the marketing and wholesaling of liquid petroleum fuels. This marked the start of our journey to revolutionize the energy sector in Trinidad and Tobago. Our mission is to offer U the Ultimate Customer Experience.
Licensed to Trade
In July 1999, Unipet was granted a wholesale marketing license, paving the way for us to end the state’s monopoly on the gas station business. This pivotal moment allowed us to offer competitive and innovative fuel solutions to the local market.
Commencement of Trading
By 2000, Unipet had commenced trading transportation fuels with an initial network of twenty-five service stations across Trinidad and Tobago. This expansion laid the foundation for our continued growth and service excellence.

Building Reputation and Reliability
With over forty years of experience in fuel transportation, Unipet quickly earned a reputation for quality, safety, reliability, and prompt delivery. Our transport division became known as one of the country’s most dependable fuel transporters. We are proud to be STOW certified at the high-risk level and in alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards for the sale and transport of fuel for both local and international companies in Trinidad, underscoring our commitment to the highest safety and operational standards.
Expansion of Services
Unipet diversified its offerings with the establishment of four convenience stores at St. Augustine, Curepe, Brentwood, and Lady Hailes service stations. These 24/7 stores provided a wide range of products, from groceries to cold beverages, enhancing the customer experience.
Launch of Auto Care Products
Innovation led to the introduction of Unipet’s own brand of auto care products, including diesel and fuel injector cleaners, octane boosters, and concentrated car wash. These high-quality products are available at all Unipet fuel stations and leading retail outlets nationwide.
Innovation and Sustainability
In line with global sustainability goals, Unipet installed solar-powered fuel pumps at the Brentwood Energy Centre and established three EV charging stations within our network. We maintain systems and procedures that mitigate health, safety, and environmental risks, ensuring our operations are environmentally conscious. Unipet continues to expand into new markets and increase our storage capacity, all while supporting sustainable and innovative practices.
